The Minkov Brothers’ Wine Cellar top wine, the Oak Tree`11 won a gold medal a the Balkan International Wine Competition`14.
Oak Tree`11 is a coupage wine made of Cabernet Saugivnon, Cabernet Franc and Syrah, inspired by the style of Bordeaux and aged for 20 months in old French barriques. The grape of Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc varieties is grown near the village of Ognen and the Syrah is from the vineyard adjacent to the winery chateau. The vineyards near the village of Ognen have a southwestern exposure and are located on the eastern slopes of the Terziyski Hill at an altitude of 225 meters. The soils are of the poorly leached maroon type. The proximity of the sea, the mild winter and spring rains, coupled with the long sunny summer allow the grapes to ripe and accumulate the potential used by Oak Tree.
The wine has a concise, well-harmonized body with velvety tannins and ripe fruit freshness preserved. The taste is complex, multi-layered with hints of sweet spices, eucalyptus, plum and blackberry, combined with cedar, leather and smoked meat. The finishing touch of deep tannins contributes to the impressive aging potential of Oak Tree.
The first wine from this brand - Oak Tree `09A was awarded gold medal at the international competitions Mundus Vini `12 and Vinalies international` 13.
